Since April 2017, any employer with an annual PAYE bill of more than £3m has been be required to pay the government’s apprenticeship levy. The levy is the biggest shake up in learning and development for decades, and it presents a unique opportunity for businesses to change the way they approach talent development. The rate has been set at 0.5% of an employers UK payroll total and will be collected via PAYE

Levy payments will be ring fenced and held in a digital account for organisations to reclaim

The government will top up your account by 10%

Levy funds must be used within 24 months on a rolling basis or you’ll lose it!

Levy funding can only be spent on apprenticeship training and assessment
