In a contract valued at over £300,000, KnowledgePool, the worldwide training provider specialising in business applications, IT and business skills training is to provide specialist learner support services including online access to subject matter experts for learndirect learners throughout the UK.
KnowledgePool’s online tutors will provide online support and mentoring services for new learndirect IT professional courses from NETg covering subjects ranging from networking to web design and programming skills. Learners will be able to access the specialist subject support 365 days per year, 24 hours per day via a dedicated learner support site, providing e-mail links to tutors, live chat and other learning services such as a database of frequently asked questions (FAQs); bulletin boards and assignments.
“Being able to support learndirect in this way enables KnowledgePool to provide a valuable and effective service to learndirect learners. We are pleased to be part of such an important learning programme.”
Paul Butler, chief executive officer at KnowledgePool.
“The addition of KnowledgePool’s learner support services to the learndirect IT professional portfolio will greatly enhance what we have to offer learners in this area. It will be an ideal complement for the support already provided to learners via learndirect’s network of hubs and learning centres and the National Tutor Service. Research has shown that the inclusion of live tutor support maintains student motivation as potential problems and blockers can be addressed quickly, enabling learners to continue with their course.”
