Royal Bank of Scotland banks on Knowledgepool

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (RBSG) has selected KnowledgePool as a strategic training supplier. Building further on an eight-year relationship between the two organisations, the agreement covers the design and delivery of fully integrated training and organisational development solutions, with a focus on “e” based solutions.

RBSG have spent over £3 million with KnowledgePool on a wide variety of training services ranging from large scale classroom based projects, consultancy services and the development and maintenance of custom e-Learning content.

We recognised a need for a requirement to move away from the buyer supplier relationships which we’ve had in the past with our bespoke e-learning development suppliers. The introduction of a preferred panel of suppliers gives us the back up which we require to support e- learning activity across a much-enlarged Group, which now has over 105,000 employees globally. It also provides the suppliers the unique opportunity to live within our culture and help shape our e-learning thinking as we progress forward with our growth plans. This is a true partnership arrangement and the way that we ultimately work together through forums and process design will reinforce that.” Brian McLaren, Head of Training and Online Learning, Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

“We’ve carried out a rigorous exercise against laid down criteria over the past 12 months and this has helped us shape what we believe to be a strong set of companies who will provide us with the creative leading edge thinking that we require. It has obviously taken a long time to complete but in a way this has assisted with the timing and we’re in a stronger position now to exploit and move forward at a quicker pace. We are delighted to formalise an already hugely successful relationship with KnowledgePool and hope that we can further exploit their extensive services as we move forward.” Dave Buglass, Manager, Learning Infrastructure, Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

“We are delighted by this further confirmation of our close relationship with, what is now, one of the world’s top five banks. We have enjoyed working with RBSG to assist them in successfully completing their integration of National Westminster Bank. We know that there will be further exciting and demanding organisational development and training challenges ahead, and look forward to working with the Bank, and their other key suppliers, to meet them. I am particularly pleased that RBSG have recognised the breadth and depth of KnowledgePool’s capability – and our particularly strong expertise in the financial services sector.”
