06 Feb Vodafone UK links up with Knowledgepool
Vodafone UK has teamed up with KnowledgePool, the IT, personal and business skills training company, to develop a suite of WAP technology courses. Vodafone will offer the courses to its corporate customers, providing a step-by step introduction to WAP in the B2B and B2C environment and enabling companies to develop their own WAP-based applications.
Available at KnowledgePool’s headquarters in Windsor, and running throughout 2001, the training is designed to benefit individuals with all levels of knowledge, from those with a basic understanding of the Internet through to people who already have experience of developing web applications.
Following the one day course, attendees will have a deeper understanding of the features and benefits associated with the deployment of WAP enabled applications. The two-day course will benefit those organisations moving towards WAP based applications and who need to develop their own mobile customer services.
Many organisations in the UK already offer their customers mobile access to services such as online banking, share dealing, information and news via the Internet. Recent research shows that mobile phone usage costs are falling and that one in six of the UK’s population now owns a mobile, the courses will enable more organisations to take advantage of WAP technology and reach a wider audience.
Paul Butler, chief executive officer of KnowledgePool commented, “We are delighted to be working so closely with the world leader in mobile telecommunications. These technologies are developing rapidly – adding an exciting dimension to global communications. KnowledgePool is committed to remaining at the forefront of training in this area.”
